Tammy Abraham was both villain and hero for Chelsea tonight, missing an easy chance in the first half but then scoring the goal in extra time to make it 3-3.
He was big enough to face up to the cameras after the game, and try to explain what had happened in an awful first 45 minutes.
What had lead to this team mentally collapsing once again? The striker tried to answer:
“When the first few chances don’t go in you start to panic a bit… we made a few errors.”
That’s putting it mildly, and he’s being very kind on his teammates in defence, who gifted the Baggies 3 goals.
He and his colleagues were just as bad in attack, and both he and Timo Werner probably should have been on the scoresheet.
