Kai Havertz has just scored his first goal for Chelsea, in just his third start – but his finish was easy compared to what came before.
Mason Mount cut in from the left wing and saw the German lurking on the edge of the box. The midfielder’s pass would have been easy to cut out had it not been for Tammy Abraham, who stepped across it but let it run through his legs.
That threw off both defenders, leaving Havertz space to collect the ball and finish ultra-calmly past the Barnsley keeper.
The first of many? We hope so. You can see the goal in the clips embedded here:
An excellent pass from Mount. An excellent dummy from Tammy. An excellent finish from Havertz.
A beautiful goal. Havertz’s first for Chelsea! 2-0.
