Timo Werner has been speaking at the Chelsea press conference at Cobham this afternoon in his first official media duty since arriving.
In a rather new feature for Chelsea, Werner spoke today, and another new signing Kai Havertz will speak to the press tomorrow.
The Chelsea striker was asked about why he chose to join Chelsea over other interested clubs such as Liverpool, and he revealed that Blues boss Frank Lampard played a massive part in convincing him to join the club after showing him the clubs vision and how he wants to play football.
The pair share the same vision and after hearing that, Werner was happy to pick Chelsea.
Werner says that Lampard even sent him videos showing how he wants his team to setup moving forward, and it seemed to work!
"He [Lampard] called me a lot we had a lot of conversations, he text me a lot, he sent me videos to show me the style of football. It was important to come in a team that has a vision that fits my football. It was important that his style fits my style."
