‘Lampard’s fault’ – These Chelsea fans react after 2-0 defeat to Liverpool

Some Chelsea fans have reacted critically following the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool today, Andreas Christensen being sent off effectively killed the game for the Blues.

Christensen was shown a straight red card after a VAR review right on the stroke of halftime, the Danish centre-back reckless brought down Sadio Mane and was duly punished.

This gifted Liverpool the platform to take over the encounter, with Mane bagging the game-winning brace in the opening 10 minutes of the second-half.

We had the chance to pull one back from the spot when Timo Werner was brought down by Thiago, Jorginho’s usually flawless hop-skip effort was saved by Alisson though.

Here’s how some of the Blues faithful reacted to that performance:

Today’s match showed clearly that the defenders that played last season are still very much lax at the back, we need the likes of Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva to be available as soon as possible.

An individual error from Christensen knocked the wind out of our sails and handed Liverpool the perfect opportunity to take control of the game, something that the champions made no mistake of.

Once again, it’s clear that some supporters are disappointed by the team selection and substitutions, particularly that Callum Hudson-Odoi was left on the bench.

This was a serious reminder that we need more experienced and cool heads at the back if we want to become challengers for the title anytime soon.
