Kai Havertz joins Alvaro Morata, Christian Pulisic and two others with impressive Chelsea record

Kai Havertz netted a hattrick in his third game for Chelsea, the first player to do so since Gordon Davies in 1984.

Since then, only four players have managed to bag a triple in their first 10 games for the club – and even then, none of them managed it as quickly as Havertz did.

Alvaro Morata had a bright start to his Chelsea career and managed 3 against Stoke in 2017, although he wasn’t able to sustain that success. Diego Costa did the same in his fourth game, against Swansea, but the Brazilian was able to keep up that form for his whole stay at the club.

Last season was particularly fruitful for hattricks – Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic both managed triples before Christmas as Frank Lampard’s team put in a superb run that set them up for the rest of the year.

Could Timo Werner be the next to join the hattrick club?
