“I am happy with Kepa” – Frank Lampard says struggling stopper is still his man

In today’s edition of things you don’t believe… Frank Lampard has said that he’s happy with Kepa.

That’s right. The goalkeeper who he’s dropped twice in 2020 already, is a player that the manager is happy with.

That’s what Lampard has just said in his press conference after the win over Brighton, as Simon Johnson of the Athletic noted on his Twitter account:

To be fair, Lampard did restore the Spanish stopper to the first team again tonight – but given he let in another shot from outside the area, we’re not sure it’s a long term solution.

It’s all part of the boss’ smooth media dealings. He’s honest, straightforward and to the point – but he never throws players under the bus or says things he will regret later. He’s not one to stand there and say that the club made a huge mistake signing the former Bilbao keeper, that’s for sure.

Whether we ever see Kepa start another game for us again is another question…
