Former Chelsea youth player closes in on Premier League return after good spell in Serie A

Chelsea’s youth academy churns out so many good players that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of where they all end up.

Ola Aina was one who we all expected to be a success, in a top division somewhere, if not at Chelsea.

In the end a successful loan to Torino became a permanent move, and the full back has been developing in Serie A for a few seasons now, adding tactical understanding to his impressive skillset.

It seems like his time there is almost at an end however, with reports in the Evening Standard today that he’s on his way to join newly promoted Fulham.

It will be nice to see him back in the Premier League, and back in West London, playing just down the road at Craven Cottage. We would never rule out a return to Chelsea either one day, if he can really excel and show what he’s learned on the continent.
