Everton closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea centre back

Chelsea have strong links with Everton right now, being that former Blues coach and general club hero Carlo Ancelotti is the current boss of The Toffees.

This will surely help a reported deal for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori to join Everton on a season-long loan deal.

ESPN suggest that Ancelotti is closing in on a deal to land the young defender with talks at an advanced stage.

Other clubs are interested, but at the moment it is Ancelotti’s side leading the race.

This will be a good move for Tomori if he is not in Frank Lampard’s first team plans. Playing under a coach like Ancelotti will be excellent for his progression, whilst also hopefully getting regular Premier League game time that is all so important for him right now.

Chelsea have also just signed Thiago Silva, and at the minute, it does not appear like any of their other centre backs will leave this window.
