Frank Lampard has two superb new options available to him in this game – both Kai Havertz and Timo Werner are fit and ready to make their Premier League debuts.
But it’s not all plain sailing for the Chelsea boss. He’s got niggling injuries affected a lot of his wide players, and so there’s no Christian Pulisic (even on the bench) and no Callum Hudson-Odoi tonight.
It’s not quite clear yet how the team will line up – perhaps with Havertz or Mount out wide, or maybe even the new German pair playing up front as dual strikers – but the XI that’s been put out has got some fans worried about balance, despite the addition of the host of new stars to the mix. “Disasterclass loading?” one fan speculated.
Not everyone is concerned though, and some are just delighted to see their new boys out there. You can see a selection of their comments embedded here:

Just a couple weeks ago we were still playing footsie with the Bayer Leverkusen admin. Now Kai Havertz is starting the 1st PL game of the season for Chelsea.
This, this makes me happy.
