Chelsea’s top 3 performers in Brighton win

Chelsea beat Brighton 3-1 yesterday in a game where they didn’t perform to their very best, but got the job done and walked away with three points.

We’re expecting this team to get better – a lot better – but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a few players in Blue who shone.

We’ve ranked our three favourites here:

3. Reece James

He banged in the goal of the night – and perhaps of the season so far, but beyond that had a really solid game, both in attack and defence.

2. Kurt Zouma

The centre back was in dominant form, winning several really notable headers and looking like a solid partnership at the back with Andreas Christensen.

1. Timo Werner

He may not have scored, but he won the crucial opening goal when he was taken out by Mat Ryan to earn his team a penalty, and he threatened all game with his runs and clever movement.
