Chelsea defender considering his future at the club with transfer window drawing in

Frank Lampard currently has five centre backs in his first team squad, so it is quite apparent that one will have to leave before the end of the transfer window.

There is now less than two weeks remaining in the summer window, so Chelsea will need to work fast with this one.

Whilst it was initially thought that it would be Fikayo Tomori to be the one to make way in the squad, the tide seems to have turned.

Tomori would have likely gone on a loan deal, but he actually played 45 minutes for Lampard against Liverpool on Sunday, whilst the more experienced Antonio Rudiger didn’t even make the bench.

This is really quite suggestive and naturally the rumours of Rudiger leaving the club have occurred.

Sky Sports believe the German international is now considering his future at the club due to wanting regular football ahead of the European Championships next summer.
