Arsenal have been linked with a surprise interest in Chelsea midfielder Jorginho by Sky Sports today.
The midfielder has started both of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far this season, but that was with Mateo Kovacic out injured.
The options Frank Lampard has in the middle are so plentiful it’s easy to imagine him being happy to move on the Italy international, who was by no means an automatic pick for long stretches last season.
If our interest in Declan Rice, as reported today by the Daily Express, does indeed prove fruitful, we will certainly be keen to move on the former Napoli player who will by that stage be even further back in the pecking order.
Selling him would also offset a large part of Rice’s fee.
For those reasons, it makes total sense for the club to be keen to sell him on to the Gunners. Whether they are actually interested is the part of the rumour we’re not clear on.
