Willian now 9th highest paid player in the league, earning more than every Liverpool player

Former Chelsea winger Willian has completed his move to Arsenal today after becoming a free agent last week.

Chelsea had a two-year extension contract offer on the table for the Brazilian international, but he chose Arsenal’s three-year offer instead.

According to The Daily Mail, it’s easy to see why!

The 32-year old will be earning ÂŁ220,000-a-week with the Gunners, making him the 9th highest player in the league.

Perhaps an even more staggering fact is that he is now earning more than every single Premier League winning Liverpool player! Astonishing.

Willian will be 35-years old when his contract runs out and he would have pocketed around £35m over the course of his contract.

Chelsea never looked like even coming close to Willian’s contract demands, which was certainly a very wise decision for a player well into his 30s now.

You can see why he has such a big smile on his face in his announcement image!
