Chelsea are really struggling in this FA Cup final against Arsenal, and the game turned on a penalty incident not long after the drinks break.
Cesar Azpilicueta was beaten in behind by a long ball, and he then fouled Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, grabbing him outside the box and then holding on as the striker went into the area.
It’s a little controversial, because there’s no question the initial contact was outside. But the actual hand on the shoulder that brings the penno doesn’t arrive until right on the edge.
In the end, it’s pretty hard to deny that it was a foul, and that the foul did continue into the box – but it was a close run thing.
