Yesterday saw a very odd chain of events regarding an alleged Chelsea bid for Declan Rice.
First of all, it appeared that Sky Sports Italy reporter Angelo Mangiante tweeted that Chelsea had, or were about to make a £50 million offer to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with signing the England international this summer, with Blues boss Frank Lampard wanting him as a new centre back.
However, this report was quickly dismissed, ironically by Sky Sports in England!

So what is really happening? Well, that is anyone’s guess. But looking at the general consensus here it is very likely that Chelsea have started a dialogue with West Ham regarding signing Rice, but whether an official offer has come in or not yet remains to be seen.
It’s worth mentioning that Angelo Mangiante is known for being a reliable transfer news reporter.
