Romano: “Kepa will not be the goalkeeper of Chelsea next season”

Chelsea transfer news is coming in thick and fast right now.

We all know the best person to go to for the most reliable news – transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

He been speaking about Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation and has provided some very interesting information on the subject.

Romano appeared on The Beautiful Game Podcast recently and he was questioned about Chelsea’s current number one, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He was also asked about any potential replacements being looked at by Chelsea right now.

As he explained, the fact that Chelsea are on the brink of a big money deal to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, means you can pretty much rule them out for expensive options such as Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid, and Ter Stegen from Barcelona.

He said Chelsea are looking at cheaper options, with Andre Onana from Ajax, and Nick Pope from Burnley both on their list.

One thing he did say though was that he is told that Kepa will definitely be leaving Chelsea this summer, confirming “Kepa will not be the goalkeeper of Chelsea next season.”
