Pedro has tragic end to Chelsea spell with brutal shoulder injury

When Christian Pulisic went down injured for Chelsea at the start of the second half, Frank Lampard turned to Pedro Rodriguez to replace him.

The Spaniard was playing in his last game for the Blues ahead of a free transfer to Roma, and it seemed like he would have the chance to sign off as even more of a hero than he already is by scoring against Arsenal.

In fact, the game turned not long after, with a red card for Mateo Kovacic.

That meant the Blues on the back foot, and despite some impressive runs from Pedro, his team never looked likely to get back into it.

He kept running though, as he always does, and the final play of the game saw him burst into the box and collide with Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

He was stretchered off after being treated on the pitch with what looks like a bad shoulder injury.

It’s an awful way to end a glittering spell at Chelsea, and we hope he’s fit and ready to play again soon in Italy.

Thanks for everything Pedro! Get well soon.
