Marina attempting to increase interest in Fikayo Tomori as European move gets closer

If Chelsea sign a new central defender this summer, one of the incumbents will likely leave, and as it stands the odd one out look set to be Fikayo Tomori.

We’ve already had interest from Rennes reported several times in the media, and L’Equipe in France are really stepping up their coverage of that bid in an article you can see below.

Their article, as translated by SportWitness says that, while the Breton club are keen on the 22 year old defender, they are struggling in negotiations with Marina Granovskaia.

The Chelsea transfer chief is clearly trying to get maximum value for a popular and talented home grown player, but also appears to be dragging her feet in the hope that other clubs will develop their interest and create a bidding war for him.

It would be a pity to see him go, and many Blues fans would rather it was Antonio Rudiger or Andreas Christensen who was leaving.

Let’s wait and see how this all plays out.
