Kai Havertz agrees 5 year Chelsea deal and Blues optimistic on staggered payment

We’re trying to not repeat ourselves here, but as the potential transfer of Kai Havertz gets closer it’s becoming hard not to.

Different top tier insiders on Twitter are getting leaks at different times, and each is pushing a slightly different detail of the story.

As with the Timo Werner deal, it was Christian Falk of Bild who lead the way on this one, but in recent days other well connected sources have chimed in.

In this case it’s Mohamed Bouhafsi, who normally takes the lead on French stories.

You can see the insider’s Tweet here, in French:

He says that Havertz “absolutely” wants to join Chelsea and that the player has agreed a 5 year deal.

Chelsea still have to agree a transfer fee with Bayer Leverkusen, but that doesn’t sound like it will be too difficult. The Blues are apparently “optimistic” about their chances of negotiating a staggered payment plan that will suit both parties.
