Just two teams left in race for long-serving Chelsea regular

Arsenal are at the head of the race to sign Chelsea winger, Willian, when he runs out of contract next week.

There’s been a long term stalemate between the club and the player, who wants a 3 year deal, longer than the 2 years that the club are willing to stretch to.

There have been talks back and forth over the course of more than a year, and even rumours within the last week that he may end up staying.

But today The Athletic – who seem well connected to the Brazilian’s camp – claim that there are only two teams left in the race for him.

They say that Barcelona and Inter Miami have been left by the wayside, and Willian’s only remaining exits are Arsenal and an unnamed other.

We still wouldn’t be surprised to see him stay when it comes down to it, but that extra year seems so important to him that it’s also hard to see him going back on his demands now.
