Frank Lampard nominated for Premier League Manager of the Season

Frank Lampard has been nominated for the Premier League manager of the season award.

The Chelsea boss made a very promising start to life in the top flight, confounding expectations of a mid-table finish to end up finishing in the Champions League spots.

That sets the team up perfectly for next season, when reinforcements will have arrived to help the Blues turn themselves back into title contenders.

After a rocky opening day, Chelsea were strong in the Autumn and Lampard won the October manager of the month award. He was nominated several other times, including as recently as June after a strong run.

There were certainly some sticky patches along the way, but overall he exceeded expectations with a young team and is a deserved nominee. He won’t win it – Chris Wilder and Jurgen Klopp both have far stronger cases without question – but this is a great start, and we’re delighted for Super Frank.
