Chelsea’s summer of recruitment continues after already confirming the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

After heavily reporting on Chelsea’s pursuit of former Barcelona centre back Xavier Mbuyamba for the last few weeks, yesterday he has confirmed that Chelsea have signed the 18-year old on a free transfer after he ended his contract with the La Liga giants.
The Dutch youngster has signed a contract with Chelsea until 2023.
It is a great signing for Chelsea with the defender often being described as ‘the next van Dijk’ outlining his similarities to the world class Liverpool centre back.
It is likely that Mbuyamba will play in Chelsea’s development squad this season and might even make an appearance in the odd Cup game in Frank Lampard’s squad.
Although he could also still go on loan to somewhere like Vitesse in order to get senior first team football.
