Chelsea have completed the signing of Ben Chilwell on a 5 year deal, concluding a long chase of their priority target.
The fee is undisclosed, but believed to be in the region of £50m, a massive discount on the £80m that was initially being reported as Leicester’s asking price.
Judging by the rumours which have been prevalent for over a year, the former Foxes player was without doubt Frank Lampard’s first choice to upgrade at left back, and the Chelsea head coach now has his man.

The current options in Chilwell’s position – Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri – both disappointed consistently through last season, and left back was seen as a priority position to upgrade.
Chilwell on the other hand has been one of the league’s top performers, and will hope to take his game to the next level at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile either Alonso or Emerson will now likely move on as Chelsea look to recoup some of their significant summer outlay.
