Chelsea could be willing to sell players at cut-prices to help fund spending

Chelsea are looking to rebuild a squad over the next few weeks that are capable of closing the gap on both Liverpool and Manchester City next season.

Having already signed two marquee signings in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, as well as the pursuit of Kai Havertz amongst others, Chelsea will need to make room and funds in order to support this rebuild.

According to The Athletic writer Dom Fifield speaking on the Straight Outta Cobham podcast, Chelsea could be forced to accept lower fee’s for some of their selling players this summer, if they are to want to continue their spending spree.

He believes this is not for financial reasons for Chelsea as such, but more the only way they will be able to sell players due to the pandemic and other clubs struggling for funds.

Liam Twomey, another guest on the show from The Athletic, says that he has not heard of any other potential suitors to sign midfielder Jorginho, especially now Juventus have sacked Maurizio Sarri.

Clubs could turn to Chelsea for a bargain or two.
