Chelsea were one of the two first teams to ask about Leeds defender

Leeds United impressed hugely in their rise to the Championship title last season, and one of the breakout stars was Ben White.

Many feared how Marcelo Bielsa’s side would cope after losing their central defensive rock Pontus Jansson in the summer.

But in the end his replacement White emerged from the season as one of the breakthrough players in the Championship, on loan from Brighton and already looking a Premier League player.

At 22 he’s not a teenager, but still has plenty of room to grow. He looks class on the ball, and adapted perfectly to Bielsa’s system in a short space of time.

Chelsea are looking for centre backs, and according to AS in Spain, the Blues were one of the two first teams (along with Liverpool) to register an interest with Brighton in the defender, and while his cost will only rise if he continues to play like this next season, he could end up being a superb option for Frank Lampard’s team in the future.
