Alphone Areola has finished his loan at Real Madrid and returned to PSG after a season sitting on the bench.
The highly rated goalkeeper failed to beat out Thibaut Courtois, and once again faces the prospect of being a second choice, sitting behind former Real keeper Keylor Navas in Paris.
Goal.com reported on that today, as well as mentioning his previous links to Chelsea.
They also mention an interesting snippet – the PSG youth product has bought a house in London with his wife in the last few months. That certainly makes a Chelsea move seem more likely.
Now 27, PSG don’t seem too interested in using their youth product given they bought Navas and loaned out Areola last year.
He’s been on plenty of loans in his career, and perhaps one to Chelsea this season could suit both him and the Blues as they scramble to find a way to get rid of Kepa Arrizabalaga and he looks for another opportunity to prove himself.
