Chelsea interested in £20m Man City defender

Chelsea’s defence once again proved to be a problematic area last night as they went down 4-1 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

This means they lost the tie 7-1 overall.

Despite Bayern clearly being a top side, Chelsea’s back line just showed how poor they are and this is something that badly needs addressing in the next 6 weeks.

The transfer window is open until October, and Chelsea will be doing some business.

According to The Daily Mirror, The Blues are considering a cut-price £20 million move for Manchester City and England defender, John Stones.

They claim that Stones has fallen down the pecking order at City, with the arrival of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth.

As a result, Stones will be available at the cheaper fee, and Chelsea are interested.

I’m not sure that Stones fits the calibre of centre back that Lampard will be looking to bring in, although his fee could be appealing.
