Chelsea hatch a plan to cover the funds needed to sign Declan Rice

Chelsea are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Frank Lampard is keen to bring Rice back to Chelsea, the club where he started his footballing career in the youth academy.

The England international is also thought to be keen on a move back to Stamford Bridge, according to the same report. However, he is unlikely to force the move due to his loyalties at West Ham.

£65 million is the reported fee that could make his club listen, and Chelsea have a plan to raise the funds needed to make an offer.

They themselves will listen to offers for their midfielder Jorginho, and hope to use the transfer fee for him on their pursuit of Rice.

It could simply be a case of Jorginho out and Rice in at Chelsea this summer, and Rice could play in Jorginho’s position, or also play as a centre back.
