Chelsea should consider low-ball offer for Gerard Pique

Things are getting messier and messier at Barcelona following their evisceration by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Catalan club have been in crisis for some time now, with the desperation to squeeze the best out of the last years of Leo Messi leading to increasingly impatient decisions.

Ernesto Valverde was sacked and replaced by Quique Setien, who has now also been chucked.

There looks set to be a major clear out this summer as club president Josep Bartomeu looks to consolidate power in the face of serious pressure from fans. Gerard Pique looks set to be one of those made into a scapegoat, and there will be plenty of teams interested.

The Sun say Fulham are one of the teams who are considering a bid for the experienced central defender, but Chelsea should really be doing the same.

It seems likely he’d like a spell in London as he builds his business empire, and the Blues could desperately do with an experienced defender in the heart of their back line.

Crazier things have happened…
