Arsenal are offering Willian the one thing Chelsea won’t

Chelsea have been locked in contract negotiations with Willian for some time now, but there’s one sticking point that has stopped any deal being agreed.

The Brazilian winger wants a 3 year contract, while the club won’t stretch beyond 2.

Neither party is willing to budge, and thus we’ve reached this standoff.

Arsenal are trying to persuade the Brazilian to join them, and according to reports today on France Football, they’ve proposed a deal with the three years he wants.

That should be enough to secure him. As much as Frank Lampard would apparently like to keep him, if the Blues won’t give the 32 year old what he wants, the Gunners will.

As much as we’re fans of the former Shakhtar man – and we could have done with him on the pitch at the weekend – three years is a very long time for a player of his age, and we can understand why Chelsea are reluctant.
