Willian admits talks with new clubs as he rejects Chelsea’s two-year offer

Chelsea winger Willian looks increasingly likely to be leaving the club at the end of this season when his contract runs out.

There have been talks of a potential new deal from Chelsea that will see the Brazilian continue his career at Stamford Bridge.

But the fact of the matter is, Chelsea are offering him a two-year extension, but Willian will only take a three-year extension.

This is according to the player himself, as reported by WAGNH.

Willian has admitted to holding talks with other clubs already, but says if Chelsea offer him three years, he will sign tomorrow.

He said:

“I already had a conversation with the club a few months ago, even before this stop. Chelsea only offer me two years and I asked for three.”

The 31-year old turns 32 next month, and he reveals that he has rejected Chelsea’s two-year offer as it stands…

“My goal in the next contract is to sign for three years. So I haven’t had a deal with Chelsea yet.

“This is what I asked the club for, three years of contract. If you give me that, I’ll get the pen and sign the contract tomorrow.”

Willian says he is just now waiting on the call from those interested clubs…

“There are rumours about several teams that may be interested. For the time being, I have had no concrete proposal. But rumours always arise. I’m waiting. My agent hasn’t given me any news yet. I’m waiting for his call.”

Two years is already breaking Chelsea’s one year policy that they usually put in place for over 30s, so this is a generous offer from the club.

If Willian isn’t prepared to take that, then it seems like he has already made his mind up to leave the club and take on a new challenge.

Thanks for your service, and goodbye!
