West Ham interest in Ross Barkley could spark big Chelsea swap deal

West Ham manager David Moyes wants a reunion with his former Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

According to The Daily Mirror, Moyes wants to make a move for Barkley this summer and hopes to persuade him with the offer of regular first team football.

Barkley has been in and out of Frank Lampard’s starting line up so far this season, largely featuring from the bench only. So this move could appeal to him as he looks to cement his England squad place for the Euros next summer.

This could spark a potential swap deal, with Chelsea’s solid interest in West Ham’s Declan Rice being reliably reported yesterday by The Athletic.

Rice started his career playing as a centre back in Chelsea’s academy, and it looks like The Blues wish to bring him back to the club and play him as a centre back in the first team under Lampard.

It could be a good move for all parties.
