Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s first touch after coming on as a sub was poor, and there were immediately fears that his introduction wasn’t going to turn the tide as Frank Lampard and the anxious Chelsea fans watching on might hope.
In fact, he’s contributed the assist that might just win the game. Running on the counter from the halfway line, Ruben dinked a perfect ball through to his fellow sub Tammy Abraham, who scored a deceptively brilliant finish from a tight angle across the keeper.
But once again, Palace have struck back to make it 3-2. We just can’t seem to get out of our own way this season.
