Chelsea have had a lot of the ball in this game without creating too many chances, but they remained patient and now finally have their reward.
Mason Mount had dropped deeper and deeper to create, and he was able to whip a ball into Ross Barkley’s feet. The midfielder kept up his good form by delivering the ball to Olivier Giroud, who in typically delicate fashion allowed a lunging defender to pass him before squeezing a neat left-footed finish in at the far post.
That’s just what this team needed, and they can hopefully go up a gear now and kill off the game in a manner they failed to against West Ham earlier this week.
You can see the goal in the clips embedded below:

Respect on Giroud’s name man, he’s actually been so clutch for us since he joined, always scoring goals / giving us that link up play and aerial ability, useful asset to have in any team. pic.twitter.com/NFZ9pbfAGt
