Frank Lampard was clearly furious about his side’s performance against West Ham this week, where they gave up a 1-0 lead against one of the weaker teams in the division and ended up losing 3-2.
He’s made 4 alterations to his starting XI today, which reflected the feelings of an unhappy manager.
When asked about the changes he had made, the manager said that they “weren’t necessarily” a reaction to individual performances (meaning, in reality, they are).
He did confess that his team “made some clear mistakes” though, and that conversations had “perhaps” happened behind closed doors (meaning they have).
It’s a typically subtle but decisive interaction with the press from the club legend.
