Frank Lampard’s team played a hopeful ball down the line which Gary Cahill looked set to run onto and clear, but the former Blue went down clutching his hamstring and Willian didn’t hesitate, sprinting clear and then cutting the ball back for Olivier Giroud to knock home.
It’s a cruel way to score, especially when it’s your former player, but this is a desperate time and we can’t be letting teams off the hook for old time’s sake.
