Kai Havertz is interested in joining Chelsea and his reps are confident a deal can be done

As the days move on, Chelsea’s chances of signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz grows by the minute.

Yesterday there was a series of significant updates by a number of reliable sources resulting in Chelsea fans really starting to get excited.

First of all BILD’s reliable reporter Christian Falk said that Havertz will ask Bayer if he can leave this summer and he tagged Chelsea as the only potential destination.

Then Matt Law of The Telegraph gave his report and said that Havertz is interested in joining Chelsea, with The Blues in pole position to sign him.

Sky Sports followed up with their report on the story, pretty much backing up what both sources have said, but admitted that Chelsea and Bayer were a little way apart on the fee.

Bayer want £90 million for the 21-year old, whilst Chelsea only want to pay up to £70 million.

The key point here though is that they say Havertz representatives are confident that a deal can be done, and that a deal can be structured with bonus payments and add-ons that would satisfy all parties.
