Inter open talks to sign Chelsea defender as Frank Lampard works on replacement

As the summer transfer window gets closer by the day, things are really starting to heat up at Chelsea with a number of departures and arrivals still expected.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech both became new Chelsea players on July the 1st, but more are expected to arrive.

As per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have opened talks with Inter Milan over the potential departure of left back Emerson Palmieri this summer, with Inter boss Antonio Conte wanting the Italian international for next season.

Emerson has become out of favour at Chelsea under Frank Lampard, and it looks very likely that he will be off this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been working on replacements, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell remaining the priority target, as reported by ESPN yesterday.

But in the same report, they also state that Chelsea are now considering Everton’s French international left back Lucas Digne as a potential alternative to Chilwell.

Expect more twists and turns on these deals yet.
