Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig this summer, massively improving their attacking setup.
But as has been so visibly obvious in a lot of games this season, Chelsea need more reinforcements across the park if they are going to mount a title challenge next season.
The defence is an area that vastly needs looking at, with Frank Lampard’s side leaking goals on the regular.
And after not signing any players for the previous two windows, this summer looks like it is about to get much busier for Chelsea.
Of course there is the chance now that Chelsea might not make Champions League football, and that could bring some financial implications due to the high revenue that this competition brings in for clubs.
Lampard was asked about this in his press conference today by Simon Johnson of The Athletic.
His response certainly hinted at the fact Lampard wants to bring more new players to Stamford Bridge this summer.
..already which shows a real positivity about where we want to go. We know that the club not being able to do business in the last two windows has meant that we haven't been able to bring in, we haven't been able to move players out.

I know where I want to go with the squad, but that has to be a fluid conversation with the club. Of course economics will come into it so we will cross that bridge when it comes."
