FA agree extension that will see Billy Gilmour now attend the FA Cup Final

Some great news for Chelsea wonder kid Billy Gilmour this afternoon.

The 19-year old has been a pinnacle part of Chelsea’s FA Cup campaign this season and has contributed a lot in the Premier League as well.

His team mates are on the brink of ending the season with some major silverware in the shape of the FA Cup, they just have to beat Arsenal on Sunday.

But due to COVID-19 restrictions, Gilmour would not have been allowed to travel to Wembley this weekend to watch and hopefully take part in any trophy lifting.

The young Scot is out injured of course, but under normal circumstances he would have at least been there with his team mates.

But after requests from Frank Lampard and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, the FA have agreed for both teams to bring an extra 10 players in their travelling parties, meaning injured players and those not in the squad can now join in and watch inside the stadium.

As The Daily Mail report, they will all be required to take the usual COVID-19 tests of course. But what great news for the youngster.
