Chelsea target reportedly open to a new challenge

Chelsea look to be in the market for a number of new players this summer as Frank Lampard looks to improve his squad and close the gap on league winners Liverpool.

One area he is considering changing is his number one goalkeeper.

The current choice there is Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Lampard has lost his patience with the Spaniard and will prioritise a replacement for him after Kai Havertz is confirmed, according to ESPN.

One potential replacement being touted is Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak.

According to The Sun, the experienced goalkeeper would now be open to a new challenge at this stage of his career with Chelsea keeping tabs on him.

He has a £109 million release clause in his contract, so he would not be a cheap option. But Chelsea have dealt with Atletico a number of times over recent years with players like Alvaro Morata and Diego Costa, so they would feel a deal could be struck here if Oblak wants to leave.
