Chelsea ‘are in talks’ to sign Kai Havertz and are ‘ready to offer 5-year contract (€8M/year)’

Chelsea ‘are in talks’ with the agent of Kai Havertz regarding making a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

This is according to self-proclaimed Transfer Market Expert Nicolo Schira, who tweeted his latest information on the deal today.

Schira believes that Chelsea will open talks with Bayer Leverkusen ‘in the next days’ and they are ready to offer the German international a 5-year contract worth 8 million euros a year.

Chelsea also ‘lead the race’ to sign Havertz, with no other clubs mentioned as being in pursuit of the highly rated 21-year old.

Havertz may well have kicked his last ball for his club on Saturday, as Chelsea’s interest is really starting to ramp up.

Chelsea have already signed his German international team mate Timo Werner and former Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech this summer, and more arrivals are further expected as Blues boss Frank Lampard looks to build up the quality in his squad.
