Chelsea ‘set to cash in’ on key midfielder

As silly season approaches, the transfer rumours come in thick and fast.

For some reason, there always seems to be stories circulating about Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante potentially leaving the club.

Yet again, there are such reports cropping up from Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by The Daily Mail.

They claim that Kante’s former boss Antonio Conte wants to sign the 29-year old at Inter Milan, and that Chelsea are ready to cash in on their asset.

The report seems quite unbelievable to be honest, especially when you consider how important Kante has become under Frank Lampard since football restarted.

Before his injury, Kante started every match for Chelsea since returning from lock down, and he has been sorely missed in the last two games.

It does look like Lampard is building his team around Kante, so Chelsea ‘set to cash in’ on him seems quite unrealistic right now, even if you do factor in his regular injuries.
