Chelsea make offer to sign 6ft 2in experienced goalkeeper

Chelsea have a number of different positions they are looking to improve in over the summer and despite their being an FA Cup Final to play this Sunday, the rumour mill is spinning fast.

A new goalkeeper will be high on the agenda of Blues boss Frank Lampard, and he has more than likely already began his search after becoming frustrated with his current number one option, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spanish international looks to be hanging onto his Chelsea career by a thread after some poor performances at the club this season.

But Chelsea have made an offer to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as his replacement, according to Spanish radio station, Cadena Ser.

The 28-year old seemingly fits the profile of the type of stopper that Lampard is now searching for in order to fix up his defence.

Part of Kepa’s problem is that he stays rooted to his line and won’t dominate his box, whereas ter Stegen has that extra height at 6ft 2in to be able to to so.
