The Athletic: Chelsea consider move for Said Benrahma

After another awful Chelsea performance yesterday, Blues fans are eagerly anticipating a summer rebuild at the club.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already joined, and Ziyech even took part in his first training session yesterday.

But he wouldn’t have been impressed watching their 4-0 defeat to Sheffield United last night, and it only outlined Chelsea’s need to make even more reinforcements this summer.

They will surely need to look at signing defenders as well as attackers, but The Athletic have confirmed the club’s interest in signing highly rated Brentford winger Said Benrahma this summer.

In a report based around current Winger Willian being unlikely to sign a contract extension at the club, it mentions Benrahma as a replacement being considered.

Willian still wants a 3-year contract extension, but Chelsea are only offer a 2-year extension, and that situation is pretty much staying unchanged.

The 24-year old Algerian international would be a great option to come in and replace him.
