What’s so great about football compared to many other sports is the way that the drama spills over off the field, into the transfer market and into the press conferences.
Take Jose Mourinho’s second spell at Chelsea. While nobody will be rushing back to rewatch some of the dire performances the Blues put in that year, you can’t help but go back and watch Mou’s famous 7 minutes answer to a question after a 3-1 loss to Southampton.
You can just watch his whole reign unravel before your eyes. Some would argue he’s never quite got things together since.
That’s a moment – well quite a bit more than a moment – that will live long in the memory.
