Two Chelsea players must sign temporary extensions by today, or will be off by June 30th

We expect to hear either way today whether two Chelsea first team players will be staying to see out this season, or whether they will be leaving the club on June the 30th.

Under the revised Premier League rules, clubs can agree temporary contract extensions with players whose deals run out at the end of this month, in order for them to finish the current season.

But new deals must be agreed and signed by end of play today (Tuesday the 23rd of June), as per Bryan Swanson of Sky Sports who tweeted this yesterday.

There is currently no sign of Chelsea’s two soon to be out of contract wingers Pedro and Willian agreeing new extensions as it stands, but that of course could change at any time today and I am sure we will hear an announcement either way.

The Blues could be left short if neither winger decides to stay and see out the season.
