Chelsea unwilling to accept less than €3m for loan army stalwart

This has been a funny season for the loan army.

Last year there were tons of talents playing in the Premier League and the Championship, but the arrival of Frank Lampard and the influence of the transfer ban meant that the most promising members were all hoovered up into the main squad.

That’s left a rather depleted contingent out there, and you can certainly count Danilo Pantic among that group.

Since signing in 2015, the Serbian has never really looked like being up to Chelsea level, and in his home country, Telegraf are now linking him with a permanent move to Partizan Belgrade.

They also report he has a €3m release clause, and that the Blues won’t accept less than that. It’s hardly a massive valuation, but given the coronavirus situation and the relative financial weakness of clubs in Serbia, that might prove to be a serious stumbling block.

But if the Blues really have given up on making any decent money off the 23 year old, a compromise can probably be reached.

“Football in England changed with that Southampton team of 2013-14, there is no other team that had as big an impact in changing the mindset.” – Who modestly said this about their own side? Find out here.
