Breaking reports this lunchtime features 19-year old Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes.
The hugely talented England under-20 year old has rejected United’s latest 25k-a-week contract offer and will leave the club at the end of this month, according to a report from the reliable Independent.
Chelsea were linked with making a move for the youngster in recent weeks, and the report has confirmed that Chelsea are one of many clubs who have an offer on the table for Gomes.
They believe that a lucrative offer from them will be enough to convince him to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
Gomes has been contacted by clubs from Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal with Hamburg, Valencia and Benfica understood to be among those leading the chase.
But Chelsea have an offer on the table that is suggested to be ‘persuasive.’
It will be interesting to see how this one transpires and whether Gomes would want to move to Chelsea bearing in mind they are pretty stacked in midfield.
