Chelsea must hurry left back deal before Barcelona enter the race for top European targets

Chelsea are in the market for a left back this summer, that much has been established by now.

By all accounts, their top target appears to be Ben Chilwell, and if a deal with Leicester can be agreed the move will happen. But there’s no guarantee of that, given the Foxes want big money for him, and are not going to be forced into a sale.

That may mean the Blues have to look further afield, and if they turn to Europe they could face serious competition. Barcelona are on the verge of including Junior Firpo in the deal to bring Lautaro Martinez to the Nou Camp, and that will mean the Blaugrana are looking for a left back of their own.

Mundo Deportivo names their shortlist, including Juan Bernat, Pervis Estupinan, Angelino, Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Tagliafico, who has already been linked with Chelsea as a potential alternative to Chilwell.

Chelsea might do well to get another summer deal wrapped up early, before the Spanish champions enter the market.
